Manas Foundation is registered social work organization formed in 2008 by then social work students to execute their ideas effectively. Today we have a team consist of social work professionals and committed community activists who work together to bring a sustainable positive change in the communities. We work with most marginalized sectors of the community such as women, scheduled tribe and scheduled caste communities, children, young girl and young boys. Our approach is participatory, need based and integrated whereas our core strategies for change are awareness among communities on their entitlements, building the capacities of marginalized people, local leadership development and initiate collective action to bring change. Our core areas of work are Health, Women Empowerment, Education and Livelihood.

OUR TEAM
Dr Nitin Jhadav
Dr. Nitin is a Homeopath with a completed Masters’ in medical and Psychiatry Social Work. He has been working in the development sector for more than 15 years especially in the health sector. He has extensive experience working as a Public Health Practitioner focusing on developing and implementing various innovative community-based accountability processes for ensuring communitization and democratization of Public Health Systems and policies in India.
Gaurav Kapoor
Gaurav Kapoor is currently working as CFO with Baazi Games and is responsible for Compliance, Investors Relations and Fund Management.
In the recent past he was associated as Senior Head with Nation Skill Development Corporation and was leading the Industry Partnership and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Engagements. He was responsible for business development, operations, financing and advocacy to setup demand-driven greenfield skill development institutes and upgrade brownfield ones, through CSR and other financing models. He was also driving engagement with industries to invest in national skill development programs.
In addition, Gaurav Kapoor was also spear heading the Communications & Advocacy function and oversees media and marketing strategy, including corporate messaging and promotion; and was responsible for corporate affairs, Government relations, media planning and partnerships. He also led the skill development initiatives in the Southern states of India, spearheading stakeholder interaction in the region.
Gaurav Kapoor joined NSDC in November 2016 and has contributed significantly towards the Sector Skill Council Governance. In mid-2017, he was charged with operational strategy for communications besides industry partnerships and CSR engagements.
A qualified Chartered Accountant, Gaurav has over 25 years of professional experience across finance and development sectors. Prior to joining NSDC, Gaurav held leadership positions in some of the foremost development organizations.
Swapnadeep Mitra
A Social Development Research Professional having 16+ years of professional experience in Social Research & Managing Community related projects. Started career with Indian Market Research Bureau in 2005, have worked with various National and International Research Organizations viz, Indian Market Research Bureau, IPSOS, Market Probe India Pvt Ltd on various Social Research issues. Spear headed the Survey & Research for SREI Sahaj E-Village Ltd, Society for Education Welfare and Economic Development, Rhiti Charitable Foundation (A MS Dhoni Organization) and currently working as a Senior Research Consultant with various Private and Government Bodies. A distinct bent of mind towards philanthropy and social impact. Well versed with Research & Survey work viz, set-up, Quantitative data collection (Household interviews, village interviews), Qualitative data collection (FGD’s, PRA techniques) and In-depth interviews, data analysis, project management & audit, high quality report making & presenting the report to the stakeholders (including Corporates & Government Bodies)
Amita Jadhav
Amita is deeply involved in empowering tribal women of Karjat block, Raigad district of Maharashtra and aims at building their own organization for sustainable change. She is one of the key activists in initiating campaign around property rights for women in the Konkan region. Amita has planned to collectively create a network of women organizations to initiate grassroots advocacy on the issues of marriage registration, joint house titles and maternal property rights of women. Amita strongly believes that access to property and other resources will enable women to reduce dependency and increase their power in decision making. Amita has been working with most marginalized communities for more than a decade along with holding Masters degree in Social Work and Bachelor degree in Law. She is associated with Manas from 2015 and leads the intervention in Raigad district of Maharashtra.
Shishir Sawant
Shishir Sawant has experience of 15+ years in the social development sector especially in Organization development, Program Management and Monitoring and evaluation. Over the past couple of years, he has been associated with CORO India, an esteemed Grassroot Leadership development organization and is deeply involved in the women empowerment process. Shishir has completed his Masters degree in Social Work from University of Pune and has been registered for Ph. D. at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. He is involved in Manas Foundation since its inception and supports in compliances and overall administration and also provide input to the program designing.
Amit Kumar
With 15 years of experience, Amit Kumar specializes in implementing the CSR projects and developing a social relationship between an industry and community. Village Development, Skill Development, promoting and providing training on sustainable agriculture, building health infrastructure, and providing a sustainable health solution to the rural and urban areas are his key work being delivered to the communities in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Delhi.Amit Kumar enjoys travelling and exploring new communities and their needs. He easily finds the common interests between the need of a community and an industry. He finds this skill especially advantages when kicking off projects with new clients.
