Modern health facilities for the village through the combined efforts of Manas, Govt. And social responsibility of the industry
Morgiri is a village in Patan taluka of Satara district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The village has a primary health centre and many of the surrounding villages depend on this centre for health facilities. The condition of this primary health centre was very depraved. The building was in bad condition and the equipment was outdated. There was no place to sit for patients and their relatives. The delivery facilities were also very outdated. In all these circumstances, the Manas Foundation, in collaboration with Sembcorp Industries and the government health system, assessed the need for this primary health centre. From this, a plan was prepared as to what facilities could be provided for this centre with priority and work was started on it. In a very short period of time, the appearance of this primary health centre has changed drastically. The building was repaired and painted. The surrounding was beautified with trees. Seating area with shed were provided for the patients and their relatives. The old equipment of the hospital was replaced with modern equipment. Facilities were created for doctors and staff. Information boards and digital displays were set up. Overall, more than 2,000 people in the area were directly benefited. The feedback was received that due to involvement of Manas Foundation, the word was completed in time with quality.
